My ultimate goal for all of my kids in my class at the end of the year is for them to become lifelong readers.

In order for them to become lifelong readers, I believe that our kids must see adults that read for pleasure, be exposed to different genres of novels, and understand the purpose of reading for pleasure and reading for knowledge.  

I strive to know my students to be able to get the correct novels in their hands, but I need the support of my parents for that to happen.

I challenge all of my parents to read to their kids at night, take them to the library or bookstore to choose new novels and read a book with them and have discussions.  You will notice a change in their vocabulary, writing and love for reading.  

 

Reading is the SOUL focus of my life and my classroom.
